Course Evaluations

This is the final course evaluations.

Final 3: 3D Group Building Project

In this final exercise the class worked as a group to create a 3D world. We built a house, garage, pool, fence and more. These pictures show you the progress we made. My personal job was to work on the pool. I added the stairs in which I ogt in the catalogue on Cloud Party. I was also a part of the furniture in and outside the house. I added a dresser, a few picture frames as well as a lantern and a bedside table.

It is a final exercise from the Immersive Education course that I am taking at Boston College. The course is called Discovering Computer Graphics. For details, visit the immersive BC portal at http://ImmersiveEducation.org/@/bc

Final #1: Flash/Powerbullet .swf Files

For final number one, I was unable to complete. The final requires a windows computer that I was unable to access. While I am living on my own in the NYC I was not able to get a windows computer to download the software. I figured I could download the other software to my Mac computer but the software gave my computer a virus which forced my computer to crash.

7/30 Game Board Rankings

This board shows the start of class

and this board shows the end of class' points. It seems as though the red team is pulling away from the blue team to take the win.

Final #2 6 Monocular Depth Cues

Atmospheric Perspective:in this photo you can see that the the things farther away are not as clear as the objects closer to the avatar.

Occlusion: this is a occlusion because the photo makes it look like my avatar is taller than the boulders but really my avatar is half the size of the boulders

Lighting and Shading: this shows lighting and shading because it shows how the light hits from one side. The litter sides show that that is the side the light is hitting on where the darker sides show the light is on the other side so it is shaded.

Linear Perspective:this photo shows the linear perspective because if you look at the lines very closely you will see that they are not exactly perpendicular as you would expect, they actually veer away from each other to make a v and show the disance from the avatar to the back of the box.

Size Difference: This shows size differences because the blocks and doors that are farther away look smaller whereas they are actually the same size.

Texture Density: the shading shows the texture of the tube.  You can see that the ground is not particularly smooth it has bolts and ridges in it.

Cloud Party House

In this project I created a house using Cloud Party. I used the different tools and objects in the virtual world to create a home for my avatar

WebGL

WebGLis a program that uses Java Scprit API made for rendering 3Dand 2D interactive graphics. WebGL does not use other add-on programs like many other 3D and 2D interactive graphics. WebGL programs have control codes which are written in JavaScripts and Shader Code executed on a Computer’s Graphic Processing Unit. An example of WebGl is Cloud Party, an virtual world that does not require any other plug-ins.

Final #4: High Resolution Avatar

This is my avatar I created using makehuman. These are screenshots of parts of the process that I went through in order to create my avatar. This has been my favorite project so far. I altered the avatar to ahve the same broken noise as me and well as bigger triceps then biceps  There were so many different ways to alter the avatar adnd make them to be identical to almost any human.  It is a final exercise from the Immersive Education course that I am taking at Boston College. Midterm 11

In the photo above I used the "stroke selection tool" to make different shapes with different types of utensils. For instance the white boxes were used by the eraser, and the circles were used with the paint brush tool.

Here I used the "paste into" tool. I did this by copying a space on another part of the picture and then using a selection to to paste into.

In this photo I worked with the opacity of the differnt layers. First I made 4 differnt colored layrs and placed them onto the picture. After that I changed the opacity to make the transpenency change throughout the differnt colored layers

In this photo I added text all over the photo in different types of fonts and colors. I also changed the spacing between letter and the distance between the words above and the words below.
This last photo, though it may look like the photo above this one has been scaled to a smaller size. this was done simply to going to image --> scale image. Making sure the photo dimensions were locked I shrunk the photo to over half it's original size.

MIDTERM 7

This this midterm exercise I used a few tools, like the cropping, color fill, layers and the text tool . This is a midterm exercise from the Immersive Education course that I am taking at Boston College. The course is called Discovering Computer Graphics. For details, visit the immersive BC portal at http://ImmersiveEducation.org/@/bc

Midterm 8

In this exercise I used the blending tool on GIMPshop to show wha tI would look like if i didnt have freckles  This a midterm exercise from the Immersive Education course that I am taking at Boston College. The course is called Discovering Computer Graphics. For details, visit the immersive BC portal at http://ImmersiveEducation.org/@/bc

MIDTERM 4

In this exercise I took a screen shot of my avatar in cloud party. Then I opened the photo in GIMPshop and used the text tool to add text. Texture Maps

Below you will see two bitmap graphics of tanks. The number 1 image is a flat/shaded image where the number 2 tank is a texture maps which is used to show detail in 3D graphic pictures. Bitmap graphics are usually either texture maps or flat/shaded images.

Midterm 10

In this midterm exercise I used Microsoft Word to draw a house. In this exercise I used both the shape tools and the gradient/texture tools to show a 3D and a more realistic view. This is a midterm exercise from the Immersive Education course I am taking at Boston College. The Course is called Discovering Computer Graphics. For more details, visit the immersive BC portal at http://immersiveeducation.org/@/bc/

MIDTERM 6

In this midterm I have made a GIF animated photo by adding layers of my name in different rotated angles and then playing the animation in a circle so it will appear as if it spinning.

MIDTERM 5

JPG

PNG

In this exercise I saved this photo in two different types of ways. As a JPG and as a PNG, you can tell by refreshing your web browser to see the different ways that is loads.

Layers

In this exercise I added and deleted layers to add the words with the paper. It was interesting to see how the layers could be moved from the top to the bottom. Cloud Party

Here I have joined a virtual world called cloud party where all met on a public island. I also took a screen shot using the buttons: command+shift+ 4

Red Eye Fornats

In this assignment I saved the files in 3 different types of web formats. To do this I exported each photo from a TIF to their new formats. The first was exported to a PNG (Portable Network Graphic) , the second was saved as a JPG (Joint Photographic Experts Group)and the last one was saved as a GIF (Graphic Interchange Format).
